Love the tips one question now I photograph a couple models regularly One model in particular. She just takes a while to warm up. I could take 100 shots and maybe come away with five how do I get that connection? She is a friend, but when the camera comes out, it’s almost like she stiffens up or pre-anticipates What it’s supposed to be and I talk to her and we laughed in the shot during the shoot and I’m how do you get them to just be natural in front of the camera? When the cameras out you take pictures as you’re talking I really wish I knew I see some of my female models seem to be more relaxed in front of female photographers, which is really starting to bump me out likeI see cute girls picking up cameras and they come away with great shots of the women because they seem just to be more at ease . it’s disconcerting but anyway, how do you get this relaxed state I have no idea. I’m funny. I’m not stiff guy. I don’t know.

Would love to hear some thoughts about the "purpose issue" after all the other tips, maybe in another video someday. Assume not having a YouTube or other Social channel to market. And assume not giving workshops or selling presets. What's the purpose of shooting a model under a bridge or in a studio, with some strobes? Shoot for the sake of fun, I know, I indeed do such thing myself. But then? I come home from a shoot trying to find a reason to sit down to do some post edits on pictures no one's ever going to watch. Keeping the better ones, delete the rest, but yayyy, what for? Did learn thousands of hours, from cameras to model contracts, from post editing to multi strobe setups, could easily teach workshops, which I'm not interested in, though, thousands of images. But never I found a hint to help finding what to do with the images after a shoot… Heard that other (amateur) photographers are having the same issue. There are no celebrities to photograph in my universe, and no friends and family either. So I go shooting with a model, just to try to figure the Why afterwards, still hoping to find the purpose of all that.

how do you go about getting subjects? Im into all types of photography, but everyone says I need a "niche" to be successful but i just love taking pics. So I am always stuck in, do I need a model, do i need a person with nice clothes etc.

I love to create moody self portraits and I have been really happy and impressed with what I manage to come up with- the light, the set up, the way I pose and the way I capture a moment or a feeling- however- if I am not the one behind the camera I find it really hard to deliver the same result- 😢
I've been mostly doing landscape and urban/abandoned type shooting (for myself) since 2018 and now I want to do something that "means" something or "matters" so I am embarking on a street portrait ministry. Connect with people, find out about them, shoot and offer to pray for them or if they have any particular needs. Be human. NOTE: I am a full time introvert so this is either God's will or it's failing. I want to work slowly so I can chat with people/ask the rhetorical question (ala Avedon) so am going to start with Manual Primes on my Lumix G100.
