In this video, Lee Morris of Fstoppers explores broad and short lighting for portrait photography in the studio. Using the FujiFilm GFX 50s Medium Format camera and 120mm Macro Lens, along with a Manfrotto Tripod and Ballhead, Lee is able to create two completely different looking portraits by placing the light on different sides of his subject. All images are edited and retouched using AlienSkin Exposure X4

Why did add you add background scores its very disturbing
Put the white board on the other side and you will got the result that you wish for. No need to bring that extra two lights.
I agree the last 2 images are the best
I don't want to pop anyone's balloon, but . . . A portrait lighting tutorial without a single word about lighting ratios and, in fact, creating all the lighting "by eye"? Interesting. It would perhaps have been more helpful for beginners who see this video to have learned a few of the (easy) basic theories behind portrait lighting which would permit them to make good portraiture repeatedly*, not just by [time consuming] trial-and-error methods or 'by eye' . . . plus, based upon someone *else's eye. Just my 2¢.
He says f4 aperture equals f3.1 on a full frame
lol your friend seems bored out of his mind with all your tech talk. ☺ But I love it! Tx
on the first setup, the fill light on the same side as the key light did pretty much nothing from what i can see?
Amazing, too bad that it’s going to be difficult for ppl that likes to take pics themselves, going back and forth trying to figure where’s the proper light and posing same time
Most cameras have highest dynamic range @ iso 200 not 100
Do he even blink?
fantastic work. I am gonna buy a nikon z7 now…
Too many ads! Imposible to enjoy always being interrupted.
Bart your a sexy beast , believe in yourself !

நன்றாக இருக்கிறது வாழ்த்துக்கள் R.MANOHAR-CHENNAI
Very nice, thank you!
i am the type of photographer who wants to spend a lot more time on shooting, rather than editing. just 2-3 minor tweaks and thats it!
would you choose alien skin over capture 1?
17:26 i see Dean Winchester🤔🤔🤔
Hey guys, I need the help of the internet.
Im a new photographer and I need to know , where should I spend my next ~$500 , so far I have my camera + Speedlight + Softbox & Tripod (for the speedlight).
1.The tripod + the ball head $ 400ish
2. The boom stick + Godox SLB60W $560ish
I like portrait and food photography, so im in an internal debate.
Any help will be greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for this video! It has given me a new understanding that I haven't thought of before….
Uuhh, if this was meant to be a commercial for AlienSkin Exposure, it worked. I just ordered x6.
Manfrotto has HORRIBLE customer service, I won't buy from them again.
Can you rec other brand for tripod?
Amazing!!!
omfg what a fkn editing. 246th dislike from me . blv me u know nothing about dodging and burning . the first cut edit was way cooler. u know about the light i got it but you are not a postproduction guy .
u talk more than u should.
Wait, I thought it was a video about lighting, there is so much product review that I can even remember why I was watching this video in first place hahahah
Not to mention that Lee criticizes amateur photographers so much that it doesn't even seem that this channel was made entirely for these people…
Пипец он замирать умеет)))))
My man big thumbs up but that music? come on ! you can’t turn the music down and then still here you, truly awful the worst
so Cinematic lighting , cool
How do I know when to use the erase tool? Like, what if I want to erase part of a tool I used, but it erased all the work under it, too, instead?
What was clicked at 27:20 to get the smoke to disappear from in front of his face, please?
Absolutely perfect video. Thorough yet…not boring. And not confusing with over-explaining/under-explaining. Thank you.
Not a model? I bet you could wake him up at 3 am take a picture and he would look as hot as hell. 😃
I understand the need to get paid, but this is unwatchable. It seems like every other sentence is about Gadget Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) and not about the lighting setup. Very disappointing.
If the video lights are a problem, turn then off, or at least set them dimmer.- BAK
It seems to me that you where just experimenting from the beginning but not actual good results.
This guy looks like a young Peter Weller. Robocop

That Exposure software looks pretty damn good. All the useful things for editing from lightroom and photoshop in one package.
I'm in love with alien skin!
People want free videos on youtube but then complain when the sponsors who paid for it get their air time.
