I shoot all portraits with an 85mm prime lens, never a 50mm as I has distortion on people faces. Also never shoot wide open either as focusing becomes too critical. Get the person off rhe background too or there will be shadows

Oh man is she drop dead gorgeous or what? I would like to make her my wife if I wasn't already married that is. Nice tutorial Matt I like seeing more about the knowledge of photography rather than getting to obsessed in kit. So many run out to get the latest piece of hi-tech wizardry thinking that makes a right proper image and we all know it is the person behind the camera who knows how to light and compose that makes it right.
