Canon has just released the new RF 135mm f.18 for its R-Series Cameras and let me tell you, this camera is an absolute beast for producing portraits.
On this shoot, we are working in our photography studio with continuous lighting and used the RF 135 f1.8 for the portraits.
Enjoy this mini photography tutorial and how-to.

It was the ending lens stroke for me. I’m sold.
Great review and wonderful photography. Many thanks!
Definitely getting this lens when it’s available to the masses
the only lens review I've ever seen where the lens gets a happy ending
Beautiful work. I love seeing the SOOC images. They tell me how far I have to go.
Alissa is simply gorgeous 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The lens that shows how fake boobs can be.
That looks like a great lens! I also like your curved reflector, curious to know who makes it, where to source one.
…look I’m just gonna come out and say it Sal is an Adonis, beautiful lighting.
拍的什么东西
Thanks Sal
Definitely on the wish list
Can’t wait to see what you will do with it outdoors.
PS I grew up in the Italian part of the Bronx and now I split my time between Sedona and Augusta Mo
It is always refreshing to see you do you thing. So many YouTubers out there that don’t have a clue.
Thank you for all that you do brother
Keep up the good work
She actually took great portraits shots..
At least it is a lens of quality unlike the Tamron lens bought one exchanged and then took it back to get my money back never bought another and never will
The real strength of the 135 1.8 is outdoors where you can emphasize creamy background isolation…for these type of shots, an 85mm is a lot more suitable I guess…yeah, you SHOULD'VE tested it outdoors
I think Sal looks the best! Did you say no makeup? Lol
I really don’t like that I have to wait until January to get this! But we’ve waited over 26 years for a new one. Haha I’m going to miss using it for all my family sessions this fall and winter – bummer.
Coulda been a lot less talking, a lot less video and more actual portrait photography. Also, coulda been better poses. Those poses are DMV poses.
Nice Vid, the girls looked awesome!
too bad this video is in 1080. hard to see that detail.
I just saw a studio portrait of Clark Gable taken in 1936 by the photographer C.S. Bull Looks like a F2.0 portrait to me. It's an amazing photo. I too was brought up working as a studio portrait photographer working with my father. He taught me F8 was the magic F-stop. But today I shoot 1.2 to 2.0 all the time with mirrorless. Makes sense to me to do the same for studio work. Plus your portraits look so much different than other studio photographers!! Life gets boring if we do the same thing forever. Thanks Sal for opening up our eyes to the new RF 135 1.8 I just ordered one… thanks 🙂
Daaaaaaamn, Alyssa! And all the ladies are gorgeous. Oh, and Sal, whatever it was you said was good, too…
Who shoots f/1.8 in the studio?
Great portraits Sal, I wouldn't expect anything less 😉 How do you expect us male photographers to keep our eyes on your Wife's beautiful eyes when The Girls totally distract my ability to focus, no pun intended. LOL I have been a nikon shooter since 77 but Canon has hit it on the nose with this lens, it is sharp with sweet bokeh. At 63 I notice if I get really close to the subject my hands may move slightly, that's why I use my tripod most of the time. Did you drift any with the eye focus or once it's locked on it's locked on?
Great set, love the texture the bokeh did to the metallic necklace when up close. Looks like 9 blade aperture blades. Very nice
We just pretending we didn’t see the lens rub huh 😂😂😂
Everyone looked awesome so happy to see Alicia in front of the camera this time 😍😍
LOOKIT THAT GIRL ALICIA!!! You all look gorgeous as usual!! Miss Y'all
It's the lens rub at the end for me 😂
The girls did great! Great shot of Sal there at the end! Nice lens for sure!
Dope shots, Sal. Alyssa is ❤🔥. I might actually add this to my arsenal of RF lenses but I honestly don't know how often I'd actually pull it outta my bag for my weddings. I could go crazy on Black Friday but I'm thinking my RF 70-200 f/2.8 and the EF 85 f/1.4 might still be relevant by then.
The Team Cincotta Girls killed it! You ladies rock! And Sal, how did they get you in front of the camera? Did they gift you a free round of golf? Cincotta = ACES👍🏼📸
Ronnie Vincent says YOU ARE THE MASTER! 📸
