I discuss whether or not the Canon RF 24-105mm lens is good for portrait photography. Will versatility and reach be good enough? I will test this out on the Canon EOS R, using the RF 24-105mm zoom lens. Here’s the quick answer–Yes! It is a more than capable portrait lens.
Many photographers often have to find the balance between what we desire and what we can afford. There is a lot of information out there covering the most expensive tools you can purchase, but they are not necessary for you to create professional quality work. Canon’s 24-105mm lens is not a cheap lens, but it is one of the cheapest zoom lenses you can buy that will significantly upgrade your versatility. With a consistent aperture and a really good focal length range, there isn’t much you can’t do with the Canon 24-105mm lens.

I‘m more into landscapes… got the EOS R with the RF 24-105 F4 L IS USM, RF 15-35 F2.8 L IS USM and the RF 35 1.8 IS STM and an old EF 100-400 F4.5-5.6 L IS USM II with 1.4x III converter but think I‘m gonna sell my entire EF system with all EF lenses to get the new RF 100-500…. however…
I love the range flexibility of the 24-105 from wide to close tele… to me a huge aperture isn’t necessary as landscape photographer so I‘m good with F4
As far for portraits, it’s a matter of taste… of course F4 doesn’t give you the blurry bokeh effect which a RF 85 1.2 L lens gives you but it’s 3 times cheaper
I personally say the 24-105 is something every photographer should consider buying, no matter what kind of photographer you are (landscapes, portraits, street, whatever)

Yes it helped me a lot, it saved me a lot of money. (I was looking for a new and better)I have been using 24-105 f/4 and the 50 f/1,4 for many years now (it's my second 24-105) I also have some other lenses, but those two are main lenses.

Bro watch your finger & feet cut offs. Tons of that on your IG. Don't let good advice offend you. Learn artificial light too. Dont be the mechanic that only does brake jobs. Shoot loose meaning leave yourself room to crop without cutting off limbs.
