In this tutorial Sean and I show you different ways we use fabric and ribbon props in our fashion and portrait photoshoots.
Welcome to our new channel series! This is the “Friday Focus” where we give you a quick and easy idea to inspire your future photo projects. We will include photoshoots, photo retouch, costumes, and props. We aim to make every video less than 10 minutes in length so that they are easy viewings for you!

Can you do a levitating tutorial with a dress tutorial with it to make the dress longer and everywhere?

The 'leading line ribbon' is a great idea and would work well with other flexible items – I'm thinking nets, chains, strips of LED lights… Yeah!
We use all sorts of props, whatever is suitable for the look. Some of my wife's favourites are weaponry, parasols and horses, usually whilst wearing corsetry and various bits of bling. (Or do horses count as models..?) 😉
We recently did an Egyptian themed shoot with sarcophagi, canopic urns, hieroglyph-inscribed pillars and even props from the Mummy and Mummy Returns movies – We have some very cool and helpful friends!

LOVE the ribbon-leading-up-to-the-camera idea. May have to yoink it for a shoot this weekend. My favorite props are books or weapons, but these are a bit more versatile! 🙂
