what paper do you use?
Hi Sergey

BRILLIANT!! MORE PLEASE!
BOB
Sensacional! Muito obrigada pelo conteúdo.
PS: Se seus vídeos tivessem legendas em português, seria maravilhoso!
When I use pastel pencils I don’t seem to be able to layer very well. I’m not sure if I’m using too much pressure. When I blend with a stump it looks streaky and doesn’t seem to blend properly. You say you use a smooth paper. Is it shiny or drawing paper? Thank you! I love using pastel pencils and doing portraits. I just can’t believe how realistic yours look compared to what I do. Do you always fee drawer your sketch? It’s just so incredible how you get the angles, shading and features so accurate. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you and thank you for sharing 🙂
Absolutely amazing!
Fantastic tuition
Great job I love it!
Bravo, Sergey! Spot on, beautiful portrait! Thanks for sharing your talent, skill, insight and process!
Good lessons from you. If you're interested, support my wife, who paints portraits on iPad Pro in Procreate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfqMJM0fqaY&t=50s
JUST FANTASTIC !
Thank you
Sergio, I need help with with use of titanium white in pastels and oils. Because its so full of pigment, it seems to grey down too much. Use of translucenent whites like flake white or zink white..they helps in oils, but not in pastels…
HERE IS MY QUESTION:
How can I increase lighter tonality and upper highlights by keeping it warm, without greying it down?
Здравствуйте Сергей, какой фирмы пастель вы используете?
WHAT AN EXCELLENT VIDEO!!
Helpful for beginner and intermediate Artists…So happy to see photo reference, and I love seeing the play by play ecplanation…
Thank you so much for the classy video, Sergio.
I used canson mi teintes paper 160 gsm. But pastel not mixing correctly . Kindly suggest me what you use paper and blending applicator.
Hit it Sergey!!!!!
It looks great 😍 what kind of pastels did you use? I am really trying to understand the material way to do portraits with pastels 🤗
Thank you! I learned a lot, very helpful. You're awesome.
Bravo. Fantastic work.
Brilliant. Thank you.
Hands down
Wow wow wow, you are a PHENOMENAL artist, Sergey! Ty sooo much for doing this real time with voice over, and filming the sketch also. All of this is so helpful. Huge privilege to have this lesson from such a talented artist. Ty.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowladge!🌻🌷🦋
Hello Sergey, I am so grateful to you and for you….you have given me so much help + inspiration (not to give up !) I am painting my whole life but not consistently as life takes over (kids) etc. Now 77 yrs (young!) have continued for the past years to do more and more 'art'..of late, for first time: portraits after reading Leonardo book just published PLUS having found you on You Tube and now am so eager to get going every morning, watching your videos (over and over) learn more and more each time. I have never seen anyone (or heard) as wonderful as you are….slowly you explain and show – at the same time. I am so very impressed and grateful to have you now as my teacher…you are the very best I have ever experienced my whole life. So, thank you for being so generous to those of us who struggle – have never reached your high level of learning – to take the steps, little by little each time we sit to paint/draw. I wish you all the best life has to offer with my very best wishes, Cynthia
Fantastic!!
Fabulous!
what pastels do you like to use? such an amazing artwork
Oil painting videis
Portrait painting
very beautiful work.
I would have loved to watch your video but I am deaf so it's no help I can't even lip read you please think of us deaf people who also want to learn thanks Mela Crane
May I ask what paper medium and the coarseness? Thank you
You are very good with pastels. This medium is not very easy to work with. With the oil pastels I have used the Liquin to soften the surface. It worked. I was just studying for a painting, later on I will continue with this medium because I have a lot of details on a large painting in which many people are involved. The one I am working on is not only a portrait, there are various people. I will try to use your system to. You have done a great job. Thank you for your video I am learning a lot. Although I have been painting for a few years now, but do not consider myself a professional. As I learn from others it will make me feel more confident. Again, thank you.
what paper did you use?
Thank you so much for this lesson. I have to do this in class on Monday and now may have a chance to do it the right way!
