I overdid the dodging and levels a bit towards the end of the video. Sorry 'bout that! Make sure you don't blow the highlights… Thanks for watching, guys!
You mentioned that Steve McCurry shoots in soft light & favours bright colours.
I think it's also important to mention the background of his images.
He always looks for clean backgrounds too preferring darker tones – no bright highlights.

Good insights, good demo, good lesson.
Kodachrome was a B&W film where the color is added later on the development process. The B&W has more tones than color film which gives this tridimensional contrast on McCurry's photography.
The contrasts of colors is something, which I found out very late to improve my photos.

Even though Steve McCurry probably edits his images today in Lightroom or similar, I doubt he was doing much to them back in the film days. He was shooting Kodachrome, and if you look at the video about his last roll of Kodachrome, you will see how the images look straight out of camera. No edits there 🙂

Hello thank you for super lessons, a question please. İ want to edit my portrait photos like old style otantique portrait. How can i add blacks in every clour to make darker clour? For example very dark black-red =burgundy or black- green ? But it is not possible with hue chanel ! Or black-white chanel! İ tried them too
