Today I’m sharing with you 7 tips to help improve your portrait photography. Let me know which one you’re going to try at your next photoshoot!
I touched on the subject of lenses a little bit in this video, but I have a more in depth video about what lenses I like to use for my portrait photography. Watch it here: My favourite portrait Lenses:
I also have a bunch of photoshoot behind the scenes videos on my channel using different lenses including the 85mm & 50mm so you can see what they look like. Below is a behind the scenes where I used the 24mm and 35mm for portraits.

Hi Julia. What is your settingb when taking backlight portrait? Do you use flash or increase the ISO or/and exposure compensation? Thank you
Wonderful advice. Thank u so much
I have been studying all your tutorial and photoshoot. As an amateur photographer, your videos were a great help in getting quality photos. I would like to thank you for that and wish you success in your channel. I also invite you to visit my small country for your travels and travel photography. I believe it will be a valuable experience for you. Best of luck..π±π°π±π°π±π°

Hello Julia your tips are inspiring.
For 50mm lens with Nikon D3300
The best photo I received was at three and feet from the subject.
At what distance do you get the best photos using 50mm lens.many thanks.
Do the lenses you recommended change if you are using a crop sensor vs a full frame camera?
I love you Julia! Your videos have helped me a lot to improve my photography!!
I'm late to the party, but I'm glad I've found this channel. Earned my subscription. βΊοΈ Definitely looking forward to checking out your presets.
Leave abt photography…..you're beautiful π
The best advice is shoot, shoot, shoot. I never gave a lot of direction at first, but I have gained a lot more confidence over the years and I am more apt to give instruction. Photography is not something that can ever be mastered, just improved. If you are not constantly learning, you are not doing it right. IMO
A lot of your video's that I have seen so far have a lot of female models. I only just now found your channel but I have been really liking your video's, I am doing a photography course and my next homework is portrait but I want to use my fiance as my model, he has no clue what to do, and neither do I. How do you pose men without making it look to feminine?
interesting accent. When you say ''photo'' I hear ''froto'' π good channel btw, nice work.
I love you
By which camera u r shooting this video??
How do you go about booking models? I have tried doing TFP shoots but I find that the models aren't reliable most of the time. I have contacted modeling agencies and have been told I have to pay to shoot a model. What are the ways around this so that I am being paid to shoot models?
Thanks Julia, subscribed. Come to Melbourne. I'll show you nice places and do your portraits there.
I'm so glad that I found your channel. Thanks for the great content
