hey julia! i only just discovered you and ive literally like spent hours watching your vids and admiring over your photos! i love them soooo sooo much!! but i have a question, since watching ive become obsessed with the 35mm 1.4 canon lens, but i dont really have the money for that. is the sigma 35mm 1.4 still as good as the canon version used on my canon 600D?? need some helppppp thanks!!
So whenever you do a whole photo shoot with this one person, do you just copy and paste the edit from this photo to the others and tweak it or do you start over for each photo? I never knew if photographers like to keep a theme to each photo shoot or if each picture could be edited differently

Great video as always. To sum up, when you took that shot, you exposed for highlights of the background (water) knowing you were going to pull shadows up to bring her exposure back? Does that always work? I’m to the point where I feel like I need strobes to fill light in that situation.
Love the video little tip when using the split toning instead of putting your saturation up you can click option/alt when adjusting your hue and it will automatically make saturation 100% so you can see what the colour is and when you let go of alt it will go back to the original saturation.
Gorgeous final edit!! …I'm wondering if you could make a video where you edit a similar photo as this one (shot for a clothing label) but with 2 different edits, 1 cinematic look and 1 how you would deliver the photo to the client. I would really like to see the differences between those edits. As the cinematic look is a preference style which can't be used for clothing labels because it affects the color of the clothing to much, right?
Which Lr version is this one, I do have the 6, the very last one before CC and considering the CC Classic…but don't really sure about if it worth it or not , Many thanks.

Great job. Honestly watching this video helps me know I’m on the right track. I would have probably edited this photo very similarly to be honest.
You have produced a very high quality video and also very instructional. Just wanted to add a suggestion to be helpful (if you are open to suggestions, if not then please dis-regard). The subject you have chosen is a very attractive woman and it is a very nice photograph, a very nice composition that works well when you are doing a simple set up with no reflected light from in front of the model. Often, at the beach, having a reflector is very tedious. One thing that immediately caught my attention is that the hand, placed close to the face, appeared very large in comparison the the face, and the "reddness" of the hand was a little distracting (not the same color tone as the rest of the body). I realize that this video is only about portrait editing and not about retouching nor posing of the model. That being said, you should be extremely proud of the fine professional video that you have produced. Hope you have a wonderful day.

This was AMAZING! I had no idea about the color changing (when you wanted to adjust the rock color)!!! I'm fairly new to editing (a few months) and I just started using split toning as well. I like the technique you used. I am going to try that. Normally I just click the box and fly across the colors until I get the one I like. Thank you for this!

5:46 JULIA! what you're talking about here there is an easier option to see the color you want to go for. While pressing option on Mac move the sliders. Let me know what you think 🙂

I really like the tutorial and the way it is explained. Only thing that has not been corrected is a red tone on the hands and legs. I also do struggle with it all the time. Than immediately I go b&w 🙂
