Hey everyone! In this review I am testing out the new Lumix S 100-500mm f5-7.1 O.I.S lens, I am using it on the Lumix S1RII for photography and the S1II for videography. I have a lot of on location sample photos for you to take a look at varying focal lengths of this lens, autofocus tests, lens flare, chromatic aberration and bokeh examples. Let me know which one is your favourite photo in the comments!

Thanks for the test. With TC the AF is working if you are using more than 500mm? With TC 1.4 the picture quality looks worser compare without TC and crop. Tested on my sigma 100-400mm and s5 ii x

Can you compare it with sigma 100-400 please? It's a bit heavier but smaller than sigma.

hi Julia, i have a question for you. So i have been using your mountains preset pack so long and last night i decided to pick up the aspen pack because i came across one of your older videos and i really really liked it. I must say that i am disappointed, the presets on my photos look nothing like the preset in your videos, there is so much tweaking i need to for it to look OK. Skintones look pink/red, sky is nowehere near that blue/teal like in your videos. Do I need to change any settings in camera or is ti just me having bigger expectations? (im shooting on the a7iii w. sigma 24-70 2.8)

This lens must cost max 1200$. Better for 300 $ more buy sigma 60-600mm.

This might be an unfair comparison for sports or bokeh photography. But between these lenses, which one is more interesting?
    1. Lumix 100-500mm + 2x converter with Sigma 60-600?
    2. Sigma 100-400mm?
    3. Sigma 150-600mm?

The price of the lens in the USA is such that I could consider the Leica 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 for just a bit more. It's good to see what you can do with the Panasonic lens.

This was an incredibly useful review. LIke… I've been doing the whole…"watch alll the reviews night" and just… this is the way a lens should be reviewed. Website is awesome as well!

The high ISO just kills to much from the image quality.

I'm so sick of Lumix. All these lenses but not one single compact auto focus lens. What on earth are they doing??

A portrait shoot with a 100-500? You need a walkie-talkie to communicate with the model and assistant ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Awesome video, thank you! Out of curiosity, were you able to identify what was the fastest shutter speed you could use at 300mm and 500mm with that ibis?

This lens reminds me how bad the G9 was with the Leica 100 400. About 10% hit rate. Outperformed by a Canon M50 and a sigma 150 600 which was half the price.
I've heard Lumix AF has improved which is good news.

Even with the 2x teleconverter it takes great shots! Some areas as not as sharp but thatโ€™s to be expected but they are still excellent beautiful images. I use a Sony 100-400 Gmii on Sony A7 IV and take wildlife, landscape and portrait and I know exactly how you feel keeping it steady and your hands and arms get tired but the outcome of the photos is worth it. How would you compare this lens with the Sony?
