I like the way you talk…& of course, the naration.
The more I do portrait photography the more I find myself using this backlit technique. Your photos always look so well lit, and I think I’m subconsciously just trying to emulate that lol. Thanks for all your tutorials and keep up the great work!

What metering mode do you use when shooting backlit?

I used a red backdrop in an open carport with a 48 in softbox and Godox V1 at a 90 degree angle and it was a disaster! The red is all over their hair and skin and totally unusable. Is there any pointers you can give when using a red backdrop?

You explained it bang on. I tried the back lit image but I found that my image were not as sharp as the other which I took where the sun was frm the side and thing that I need to look into. My iso was 200 and ss 1/1000

Reflectors and natural reflectors work well. I also use a speed light either on or off camera with a defuser manually set correct exposure, or sometimes -1 stop. Whatever works for you.
100 years ago I was taught that it was acceptable to use a flash when shooting in sunlight. Is this still a thing? Also, I never edit any image except to add my watermark. So any suggestions that don't include post editing tips would be helpful. Thanks!

I’ve searched for awhile for tutorials on this subject and everyone always leaves it so many important details.
