Hey everyone! Today I using the Nikon Z8 to test out all 3 35mm prime lens options for Nikon to talk to you about the pros and cons of each and find out which one is right for you. I am using the Nikkor Z 35mm f1.2 S, Nikkor Z 35mm f1.8 S and Nikkor Z 35mm f1.4. I am going to be comparing the build of each lens, bokeh quality, background to foreground separation differences, sharpness, performance and some considerations about using them in the field. 35mm f1.4 is my wish list. I just not pro enough to justify that I need it. Still enjoying my 40mm f2 for now.

Well done! But it feels like the 40F2 should have been included as well 😇 This new Nikon Z lens collection is a bit confusing. Specially the 35F1.4 vs 35F1.8 (same with 50mm primes). Makes no sense to most people. It's like a new trick to push us towards the F1.2.
Great video, as this is the exact dilemma I'm dealing with right now. The 35mm f/1.2 is a no-brainer if money's no object – but for me it's between the 35mm f/1.4 and f/1.8, and the Sirui 35mm f/1.4. This Chinese lens is very intriguing to me as reviews suggest it has a vintage, less clinical rendering. Would love to see you review the Sirui Z-mount lenses.

The f/1.4 looks like a total pass.
It's almost impossible to find soap bubble bokeh in modern lenses, so hang on to those older "faulty" lenses. The look will get rarer and rarer.
Love your reviews, they're honestly some of the very best, but could you please keep your amazing pictures up for more than 2 or 3 seconds so we can study them in detail without pausing! Thanks!

Hey I notice you wear a light colored outfit instead of a black one. I have heard that it acts as a reflector making the photographer more visible in portrait shots either through the reflection in the eyes. Wouldn't a black outfit fix that ?
