When it comes to portrait photography, capturing emotion is one of the most important aspects of creating a powerful and impactful image. There are several techniques that can help you to achieve this, from understanding your subject’s personality and body language to creating a comfortable and relaxed environment.
One of the key elements of capturing emotion in portrait photography is to create a connection with your subject. This can be achieved through simple gestures such as making eye contact, asking questions, and showing genuine interest in your subject’s life and experiences. By building a rapport with your subject, you can help them to feel more relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera, which in turn can lead to more authentic and emotive images.

As the channel is new, it would be really great if you could leave me a like or a comment. It helps me to know what you're enjoying (or not) and will keep me motivated to create more of these videos for you! Thank you so much for watching – Alex
Awesome work and creativity. Love the process.
Loving the metrosexual attitude there Alex, takes me back to my studio days.
Thank you for uploading the content. It's great to see you in action. I'm taking notes! I struggle with flow and with ideas, and am in awe of how you can keep things flowing smoothly.
That was an awesome video for how to interact with a model
Awesome! Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
Love it.
So cool to see how you direct the show👍
I’m looking forward to the next video!
This is great stuff! You see how she is becoming a wonderful model. I hope she LOVES these images! I think they are FANTASTIC!
I've watched all three video's twice now and thoroughly enjoyed them. Please when is the next one coming out?
I like how you interact with the model in providing feedback, visualization, posing… wonderful teaching and photography!
Fantastic. Thank you. All the best. 👍📷😎
Simple informative a new channel new ideas learned so much thanks
I've always been nervous when asking a model to pose for me (usually at a camera club event), which I think is sensed by the model, resulting in disappointing results. What I've learnt from your videos is that the model will respond positively if the photographer can communicate that they know what they're doing. Your easy to follow guidance will help me to do that. Thank you Alex. I'm looking forward to your next video.
Nice, really nice! She has a Kate Bush like presence on the final photo's just before you moved the light off to the side. Really, really nice
Photographic eye to this? Give us more with more non models! So educational
Do you shoot in camera B/W?
Pure joy to watch you in action! Same in-deep information, as your "main" channel, but different field and very "hands-on". Obviously never in the literal sense 😉 …
It is an absolutely pleasure to watch your videos. You shows that photography is much more communication then technical things. Thank you

Very cool ideas for model poses and with the blowing of the hair. Well done👍
So excited for this channel! You give such meaningful artistic info instead of all the technical channels, love it!
I find portrait photography very exciting, but I was always concerned about working with the model. I learned a lot from these videos, so you took my worries away. Thank you very much and keep it up with this channel. By the way, Lea is a beautiful model.
Best regards from Germany.

Wonderfully done, Alex. I really appreciate your ability to engage your sitter and bring her to such a powerful moment in front of your lens. Thank you for sharing this aspect of your process.
Wonderful model. When you show the picture, she smiles and instantly her face lights up. 😊 A smile would be nice to photograph too.

Thank you very much. When I see how you work I feel encouraged to try it myself. Sometimes I am so eager to grab the camera while watching that I stop the video just to take camera to my hands to and plan ahead photo shoot.
Great tips. May I suggest giving the model social media credit when applicable?
This is what I’ve been hoping you would do one day. Love this and I’m carefully watching your videos
