I didn't know there was more than one type of shade.
This is from a professional perspective, but your model has the most amazing eyes I have ever seen.
So you are bouncing the natural light from the sun into the open shade wall to light up her face ? But also if you shoot wide open then you must do close up shots bc of the shallow depth of field. Can you do that with full body shots if you need to back up a distance without losing sharpness by of wide open aperture ?
Im a bit confused with what you are saying I this video . You say 1) you are exposing for the background sky, so that the sky is overexposed ) and then you seem to skip steps by saying –> 2) You are shooting with aperture wide open all of the sudden. SO my question is – If you are exposing for the sky then how are you exposing the model's face? I thought you were shooting more wide open to expose for her face. Seemed somewhat unclear to me.

Wow,,,, This is such a great enlightening to me ,, realizing when met bright background i don't always have to use flash lights. Maybe i can artificially build the shade & wall of my own using reflectors. Great thanks.
