The 85mm is a forgiving, flattering lens for portraits. 😇 But switch to a 35mm, and suddenly, body parts closest to the camera appear larger and exaggerated. 😲

That's why most 85mm are default lenses for portrait photographers.
Better off with Nikon!!

The 35 has elongated the model’s arm, and head 😮. It may be fine if you like that look or don’t have another photo or the real model to compare it with. The 35 shows the environment whereas the 85 is all about the model. Horses for courses.

The big difference is…background. GRINS
Can't make up my mind who's prettier the model or the photographer.
I know it's all subjective, but I find the 85 is still not long enough for proper perspective in portraits. Yes you can get amazing bokeh with the fast 85, but I personally prefer my 100 2.8 macro for portraits (Canon shooter)
