    What's the ratio from main light to hair light? Thanks

  7. @xesse1 Avatar
    @xesse1

    If i am just using a main and fill light set up, do i have to meter them separately to get the ratio i want and then meter them together to get the correct exposure for the camera? Or do i just use the exposure settings for the main light? say for example the main light meters at f/11 and the fill meters at f/4, do i put the aperture on my camera to f/11 or do i have to take a meter reading of both lights together? i think i understand how to balance out the lights and how to get the ratio correct, but its confusing me as to what settings i should have on my camera, thanks

    Main & fill should both be on the same side of the camera (which should be on a camera stand or tripod)
