Why wouldn't you use your r5 for studio work?
Hi. I just ordered r6 🙂 if you could just buy one lens at the moment will you get 50 1.2 for extra dreamy look or 28-70 for less special but more versatile??? So difficult to choose 🤷♂️

Thanks so much. Nice bag. I used a 28-75 on my crop sensor Nikon. Took many nice pics with it. Will be getting a full frame version for the one I shoot with now. Love the way explain what you carry and why. Also live your cabinet. Can't wait to organize my gear the way that is easy to find what I need and when.

Hi Vanesa, thanks for sharing what's in your bag. Just wondered, if you don't have an assistant and you're shooting outdoors, how do you choose between using the B1 or the tri-grip? I am assuming it is impossible to hold both the camera, tri-grip and B1 simultaneously. I'm already super impressed that you are able to shoot a gripped R5 with the massive 28-70 f/2 with one hand, while also hold a B1 or trip-grip with the other. That must take some practice?!

In stead of bringing the 135, why not just shoot the R5 in crop mode at 112mm?
IMO, the take away from this video is about using a long lens to avoid intimidation at the beginning, similar to another photographer's tip of using the back of your hand to face the subject(s) instead of the palm.
What a great video!! The 28-70mm 2.0 is definitely going to be first RF lens for my R5. It makes perfect sense for leaving my other lenses at home. I hope that Canon makes a 135mm 2.0 , 1.8 or 1.4 RF lens. Please Canon! I hope you're reading this.
nice review. do you think 35mm creates too much distorsions with respect to 50mm ? I like to use my sigma art 35mm F/1.4 everywhere but at min 2m when i shoot portraits.
Great video! Just curious, how do you pick your spots to shoot engagement photos? Do you leave it up to your clients or make suggestions? And how do you go about finding new spots?

So bummed you said the camera strap is no longer being sold…. I have admired that strap for a while. Any idea if the Hold Fast Moneymaker solo is similar to the Kawagear Strap? Shame…I wanted to get one.

How on earth am I still shooting with canon 600d?
OK..so let's take a brief minute to address the elephant in the room. That was over 8K in equipment. So just a reminder: VJ is an accomplished pro with a thriving business. When you get to her level of the craft, it's more about the quality of equipment and features rather than the cost. So don't get discouraged. There are lower budget items that work almost as well. If you're just starting out remember this: We all start from the same place in photography…Knowing very little and having even less. I couldn't FIT 8K of gear in my bag b/c my car won't fit in it. But I have all that I need to get my work done on a semi-pro level. What I got out of the video is to take what you REALLY need on an outdoor shoot and NOT to try and carry every piece of equipment you own b/c you MIGHT need it (made me stop and think "Why do I take my extension tube set?"). It's what I enjoy about VJ's videos…it speaks to the beginner, the hobbyist, the semi-pro and the pros. Question to VJ: How have you been coping with the pandemic in terms of having a photography business?

Great info and it pushes the Canon 28-70mm f/2L lens up to the top of my gear wish list.
Question – You mentioned your preference for the Canon 1Dx 3 for studio work. I'd like to hear your thoughts on that choice as it seems many would prefer the 45 megapixels of the R5 over the 20 megapixels of the 1Dx 3 for studio work.
