Beautiful shots! I have a D5300, and I love how good the pix turn out. I admit, I only use the 18-55 kit lens for Aurora Borealis pix and nothing else. For portraits I use a 50mm 1.8 and for general photography I find my 70-300 works best, but I am looking at other lenses like the 16-80 2.8 and a 150-600 for wildlife, and a 18-300 general walk around lens.
