the effect looks like a defective photo

I am sort of new to photography (hadnt done anything since high school yearbook class). I bought a Canon t7i and a few lenses and then I ordered a Zoom lensball and a crystal cut and the triangle prism. My question is for the shots in this video what lens did you use? 18-55mm?
just received a prism for Christmas! Looking forward to the options it could provide to my photography that maybe my software won't provide!!!! Love the video. Have been to Boston many times so it was fun to also see the area I know well. Great models and photography!

You should really look at PrismLensFx they made custom prisms with mountable options to mount to a handheld grip and a free hand mountable camera arm so you don't have to touch or hold the prism!
The last two shots were pretty cool, I would get one just for that.

I don’t need a prism. I’m just going to put my finger over the lens. I get similar results.

I got my off eBay £5 4inc 10cm it's an optical glass one , and it does give the rainbow light and reflection effect, ! Or you can buy one for £20 what's crystal in same same size!
I brought the 10 cm 4inch one and it's fine for me but I have small hands and would only use on 50-85mm lens mines great for me

Neat to see the concept in action. The photo at 5:42 really utilized the effect well.
it's cool to see what other people are doing, but it's not really something I could get into.
To each their own, but I can't say I personally found that the prism added anything particularly interesting to any of the photos. Kind of just made them look like unintentionally ruined shots.
