I must have missed this gem of a video on corporate headshots – I wonder about different heights of people standing and if camera is on tripod maybe an adjustable height stool with people sitting could be easier option than adjusting the height of lights or is it that the softboxes are set far anough away that any height person will look just groovy

I like this concept and the setup. Thank you for all your great videos. Do you find that with this setup the stand gets in the way of the camera? Also I find clamshell lighting works well with beautiful models – but older bald men (or women…not so much!) Can you do a video with the same setup showing older people with double chins and undereye circles? (typical client) Thanks!

Great tutorial. One question, why are you shooting in landscape configuration rather than portrait? Will you have a use for images in the landscape configuration. I realize that you can crop a portrait oriented shot from a horizontal but, not necessarily the other way around…

How is the lower light attached?
How is the bottom light connected to the c-stand? Is it a super clamp?
Wouldn't this set up show major reflections for people wearing glasses?
I have limited lighting. Can I achieve this with a 47" octabox as a main and using a 32×32 softbox as a fill while using a separation light for background? By the way, this was a great video and thanks!

This is a neat idea, and two lights have a big advantage over one light with a reflector. Add a hair light, and you're gold. One problem is having the light stand in the exact spot where the camera should be, but it can be kicked over a bit. I need to extend the distance between the super clamp and the lower head though.

Hi Daniel Norton, I'm very curious about what you were saying about what configuration you did before the shoot. Regarding cancelling out the ''bad'' ambient fluorescence light in conference room. And make sure you have a black frame?
I didn't quite understand, is it possible to explain it more specifically one more time or make a small video from you entering a room, and before and after pictures, after you have done configurations on your cam?

Whats the best aperture setting for headshot?
Why are you using clamshell on professional portraits? You should be using three point lighting setup for these, the hotspot on the background looks amateurish. It should be between 15-25 min with each customer and 50-60 min with each executive, this isnt ideal at all and only hurts our professional services for the long term, no wonder lifetouch is getting all the business these days. I hope you'll remake this video.
