In today’s photoshoot we’re trying out the Sony A7III with the Canon 85mm f1.2L. We’re doing a no makeup photoshoot in harsh sunlight and there are lots of posing tips throughout this video 😀

New blog post with all my photos from this shoot: http://blog.juliatrotti.com/pictures/sony-a7iii-canon-85mm-f12 all the photos were edited with my Summer Haze Lightroom Preset: https://www.digitalfilmactions.com/lightroom-presets/#/summer-haze-lightroom-preset/ 💛
I am transferring from Canon 5D Mark 3 to Sony a7iii. I have 4 Canon lenses which I want to use. Does Canon’s lenses decrease the focal speed? What mount adapter should I buy? Thank you.
This is f1.2L 1 or 2
I am wondering that bird did not fly 😍❤
Blue sky is blurred so beautifully.
I use the Sony 85mm f/1.8 on both my A7iii and A6400 cameras… It is sharp, lightweight and it does produce lovely bokeh…
I use the 85 1.2 with my Sony and metabones – 80% of the time out of focus. I have to manually focus it always it’s very frustrating
After update firmware for a7iii and mc11 adapter, my canon 50f1.2 work quite well and I sold my FE55 and Sigma 50A.
Not a good backround situation for this portraits, with all this vertical lines of sea, rocks and horizon.
Watch videos of Irene Rudnyk, she knows how to use this lens with phantastic results.
01:15 alone is great as a picture 😮
Hm, I don't know…the photos are not that good. Look like photos from a hobby photographer
Can't decide between the a7iii vs canon eos r – I focus only on portrait photos… Anyone?
That seagull 😍
How did you find eye AF with canon 85mm1.2 and Sony A7III ? Is it compatible enough? What is the percentage of successful shots ?
Can it harm the camera sensor to have sun in frame?
With my Sigma converster i can Shooting only 1.3 with my 85 1.2 hmm
Its none f/1.2 shot, did i missed it?
The seagulls were more interesting to watch but pics came out nice.
Hi, Julia! Beautiful shooting and model, you directed her brilliantly. One question, did you use simple focus mode or continuous mode? I find that my Canon lenses when used with Metabones and my a7III in continuous mode, struggle a lot to focus (with a lot of lens noise) so I end up switching to simple focus mode.
Hey Julia what camera did you use to record the video?
that seagull
This video is great for people to learn how to direct models!
what do we have to do to get sony to put a flip screen on this? They had it on the a5… 🙁
Hi Julia, as you mentioned in the video I am eagerly waiting on how canon 85mm1.2L performed on Sony body using metabones IV during wedding? Have you tried it? I would really appreciate your reply as I got 1.2 85mm and deciding if I should keep it or rather buy Sony 85 1.8 or metabones 4
Thankyou
Hi Julia, great video once again! Just a quick question, I have issues getting my model in focus and sharp once I move back to do full figure photos. Open apertures works great for me close up but anything landscape style just doesn't work for me. Do you do anything different when shooting from a far?
That seagull doesn’t give AF heheh.
Love watching how you work!
if you want better LCD, you would have to go with A7R III… that camera have brighter screen and better viewfinder… but it's pricey…
