Not sure if it’s the same on the Sony mounts but I use the focus ring when in af mode as a custom control for ISO on my Nikon camera which comes in handy.

You have to take the 390 mm on 5,6 …..that’s the best at this Lens…… it’s near the 100-400 4,6 Sony

3:50 Amazingly sharp at 500mm with a 1/200 exposure, that's some amazing image stabilization.
