If I had to pick one focal length for portrait photography using a full frame camera it would be an 85mm lens. This is the Sony 85mm f1.4 GM lens and the price tag for this beast is $1,798 on B&H. There are cheaper options out there, but this is is hands-down the best option for those invested in Sony, especially from an image quality perspective. Everything you might expect is here: sharpness, smooth bokeh, fast autofocus, and sealing against dust and moisture.
