Here’s a photography tip to help your model posing- have a mirror on a light stand so she can see herself. It really helps her know what’s going on, resulting in better poses, expressions and shots.

Mirrors are great if your model does not look continuously into them while shooting! I have had to remove mirrors halfway through shoots because the model has become infatuated with her reflection! Great job you two as always! π

I have an ad200, but was unaware of that "cute" little soft box. Thx
πOk, I'm really sold on the mirror idea. In the studio, I tether to Capture One on the laptop. Then feed that to the big screen on the wheeled stand. Both I and the model can see the image on the 55-inch screen with a light auto-correction applied. But this would be impracticable to use out on the field. I could mount an iPad on a light stand but I really like the mirror as not only he/she can see themselves in the mirror but also there is no batteries to be charged. Its super high resolution. It's super lightweight and easy to replace if it gets lost or damaged. Its one of those, "Why didn't I think of that?" ideas. Thanks, Cara and Markus!! π€

What softbox was that I think you said 17" but It looked like the Godox S7's you showed in the master class on the AD200s?

I have the same modifier. I also use a mirror for my model but I find that she is looking too much in the mirror and not at the czmera.
Hi Cara, good point about the mirror, saves a lot of unnecessary directions/requests from the guy with the camera, especially when the talent knows how to pose, as you do. Enjoy life.
It's not the size of the equipment, it's how you use it.

Your photo sessions end up being great for getting ideas for photo shoots, but you have that one extra item that a lot of photographers would like to have. Cara is loaded with modeling knowledge, seems to love having fun getting her photograph taken, and she injects a lot of humor with you in these videos. The perfect photography project team.
