Very smart
Very good point; not every picture showing a person is a portrait.. The word 'portrait' is used far to much today..
I have had some comments about my Orange & Teal reference. Whoops #triggered
Trends will come and go but what always ALWAYS comes back around is good colour, contrast, solid B & W and more importantly in portraits .. story and something real.
Is it not refreshing to see someone being themselves in a portraits VS over posing or pushing forth that persona many of us create?
This video was great. Definitely something I needed to hear while I'm stripping back my craft to build from basics again. Looking forward to more of these

Hey Richard. I don't usually comment on videos but I just had to on this one. I loved your advice and honesty in the video. I am just starting out in photography. I want to focus on portraiture. I currently don't have any kind of professional lighting cause I can't afford it. Any advice you can give me on how best to proceed with only a camera, black backdrop, love of people and photography🙈.
