I used RP with EF24-105(first gen) for years, planning to get R6iii and 24-70f2.8 but it is too heavy. Should I go with RF24-105 f4 or RF28-70f2.8? Or just keep the EF24-105f4?

Shot a wedding last weekend with this lens on an R6II and it rendered beautifully with very accurate fast AF. Does it have the same isolation and compression of 70-200 f2.8 @200mm, nope, but the ability to very quickly get a group shot at 24mm and then immediately hone in on a persons face in a different area at 105mm was so easy. I imagine (not that I can afford it) that the 24-105 f2.8 is quite heavy.

Man, you won't believe it, but this was EXACTLY the video I needed. I have an APS-C camera and I'm moving to full frame, and I'm trying to figure out and calculate which lenses and apertures I actually use and need the most. Since full frame is so different from APS-C, I was really confused. Thank you so much for this video, it was incredibly helpful. Absolutely amazing!
24-105 f4 is my main lens.
50mm, 85mm I use in a more controlled environment.

I take portraita with my 70-200 F4 sometimes and it’s amazing 😂
I love my 24-105 to f4. I use it for travel, family photos, home video projects, etc. It’s my workhorse, and eventually I will find another lens to compliment it, but it is by no means an inadequate lens. Agree with you James!
I always shot „Portraits“ with my 24-105 F4L. Especially at Conventions where if you go to 50-105 F4, you still get the blurry background to some extend, while you still have enough context about where you are etc.
+ you are really versatile with it. You don‘t have to risk dust or something coming into the camera because you do not have to switch lenses all the time. Huge practical factor.
Maybe this lens doesn’t win on the blurryness or low light part (even tho that’s another thing, I think many people don’t even shoot in the dark because interesting things happen throughout the day) but it’s definitely winning on the versatility, usability & „getting the shot done the fastest“ part.
